About this Event
Internal controls are more important than ever. Small to medium sized businesses face a unique challenge: implementing strong internal controls with limited resources. This luncheon will equip you with practical strategies to design and maintain effective internal controls even when full segregation of duties isn't feasible.
You'll learn how to:
- Evaluate and implement fundamental operational and accounting controls tailored for small to medium sized businesses.
- Strengthen controls over cash receipts, cash disbursements, fixed assets, and inventory.
- Segregate duties and apply compensating controls to reduce fraud risk.
- Assess risks specific to smaller organizations and implement preventive, detective, deterrent, and compensating controls when resources are limited.
- Apply technology-based fraud prevention and detection techniques; as well as, ways to secure your information systems and sensitive data.
- Establish a company culture that supports a strong control environment.
Real-world constraints mean not every theoretical control can be implemented. This course provides realistic, actionable solutions to help your organization mitigate risk and maintain accountability, even with limited personnel and resources.
